Just some awesome cat beards, nbd.
I’ve just been really fucking miserable lately and I just want to cry but I’m in a middle of a restaurant for my brother’s graduation and that’d be really inappropriate.
Christie Rampone Voted NWSL Player of the Week - Sky Blue FC
CHICAGO (May 21, 2013) - Sky Blue FC defender Christie Rampone was voted the National Womens Soccer League (NWSL) Player of the Week by the media for Week 6 of the 2013 NWSL season. Rampone, 37, played all 180 minutes in Sky Blue FCs two games during Week 6 and helped led the team to its third and fourth shutouts of the season in a 1-0 victory May 16 over Portland Thorns FC and a 3-0 win May 19 against Seattle Reign FC. In addition, the clean sheets extended Sky Blue FCs consecutive shutout streak to three games. “Both wins on the road last week were a tribute to quality team defending, and Christie is our leader on defense,” said Head Coach Jim Gabarra. “We are very fortunate to have her as an allocated player to provide us leadership and stability.” In addition to Rampone, Sky Blue FC goalkeeper Brittany Cameron won this award in Week 1 of the NWSL season. Added Gabarra, “With these individual awards, it really reflects on how well the team is playing as a group.” Rampone, the Manasquan, NJ native, and Sky Blue FC have allowed just one goal in their last 430 minutes of play: a 90th minute equalizer to Chicago Red Stars midfielder Alyssa Mautz in a 1-1 draw in a midweek game during Week 5. The United States international has played every minute (630) this season and been a significant factor in her teams 0.57 GAA - tied for best in the league with Portland. Rampone was named on Tuesday to the U.S. Womens National Team roster for the USAs friendly match against Canada on June 2 at BMO Field in Toronto. She is the second most capped player in U.S. history and the most-capped active player in the world with 280 appearances for her national team. Sky Blue FC will return to action Saturday, May 25 at 8:35 PM EST against FC Kansas City at Verizon Field in Overland Park, KS. The NWSL Player of the Week is selected each week of the regular season by a selection of journalists that cover the league on a consistent basis.
